Accessible only by float plane, departure from Labrador City (Wabush).

TERRITORY MAP

We supply you, free of charge, a territory map, scale 1" = 250 000(4 Mi for one inche). it will be given to you before your bush flight departure.

However, if you prefer to have a map with a scale of 1' = 50 000' (3/4 Mi for one inche), you can order at your local map dealer using the following map number, depending of your fishing camp number reserved:

  • Camp # 1 : Map # 23F15 and 23F10

  • Camp # 3 : Map # 23F10 and 23F9

  • Camp # 5 : Map # 23F15 and 23Fl4 and 23K3

TRANSPORTATION

Access to the camp is by float plane only Ieaving from the town of Wabush.

This service is supplied by Air Saguenay (1980) mc., the Iargest bush air carrier in Eastern Canada. This company is subject to the exacting standards of the Canadian Ministry of Transport (Mot).

Thus you will be able to fly to your camp in complete safety aboard a float plane with either a DHC-3 Otter or a DHC-2 Beaver.

WAY IN: Departure time of the float plane flight, the first day of your trip, from Wabush to your camp s sheduled between 13:30 ta 14:00 PM, local time.

WAY OUT: Return time of the float plane flight, the last day of your tnp, from camp to Wabush, is sheduled between 14:30 to 17:00 PM.

Types of planes used are, either the DHC-2 Beaver (4 passengers) or the DHC-3 Otter (8 passengers).The Ienght of flight vary from 50 ta 70 minutes, according to the distance to browse and the direction of winds.

Usually the first day is plan for the flying tnp to your camp and to leave you some time to settie in at camp, wich leave you pratically no time for fishing.

The returning day, you wiII be ailowed to fish during the morning and have to be back at camp for noon (12:00 hr PM) to have the time for lunch and prepare your luggage for the return bush flight scheduled between 14:30 hr PM and 17:00 hr PM.

In the event of bad weather conditions, preventing the safe departure of bush plane to your camp or from your camp, you wiII be lodged at no extra charge at your camp or at the float plane base (meals are not include at float plane base). However, no refund or extra prolongation of the stay at the camp will be provided in the case of delayed departures due to the uncertain weather conditions or ail other reason out of our control.

HOW TO GET TO WABUSH BY PLANE

If are planing to take a plane from your hometown or from any international airport around the worldto Wabush. Here's the instruction to plan your flight reservation. Be sure ta make your reservatian Iong time ahead to have your Seat at the required dates.

Every day of the week, there are regular flight to Montreal, and from Montreal to Wabush, or from Quebec City and Sept-Îles. If you come from outside of Quebec province, you will have to anticipate a connection flight with Montreal or Quebec City.

HOW TO PLAN YOUR FLIGHT TO WABUSH

You have to plan your reservation flight in accordance with the date appearing, in the itinerary section of your Club Chambeaux invoice (or resevation form). Usualty, every day af the week, there is a regular fiight starting from Montreal (Dorval Airport) or from Quebec City Airport to Wabush. The departure time is generally between 6:30 hr AM and 8:30 hr AM and arrival at Wabush is between 11:40 hr AM and 13:30 hr PM. All other fiight schedule are inadvisable because you have ta be at the bush plane base for the departure of your bush fiight to your camp, no later than 13:30 hr PM.

To allow our welcome service to greet you at the Wabush airport upon your arrival, send us a copy of your flight itinerary, by post or by fax at 1(418) 548-2037 (before June) or at1(709)-944-5262 (June to September).

You have to be advise that some economical air-plane tickets include some penalty fee if you miss your flight. In the event of bad weather condition that prevent safe departure of the bush flight you might miss your plane. Club Chambeaux will not be held responsible for schedule change that can occur for reason out of our control.

We strongly recommend that you check with your travel agent the baggage and weight allowance per passenger, for your flight in or out. It is possible that any excess weight or excess number of baggage authorized will be charge extra and may only be transported on available space.

HOW TO GET TO WABUSH BY ROAD

The only accessible road to get to the Wabush bush plane base is the road 389 North that you can take from the town of Baie-Comeau. Use the enclose road map to check the best way for you to travel.

You must present yourself at the bush plane base to take your bush flight to your camp,at the lattest 12:30 hr PM, for the first date of your tnp appearing on Club Chambeaux invoice (or reservation form).

Since the distance between Baie-Comeau and Labrador City is 350 miles, you can anticipate 7 to 8 hours of driving.The road gravel section of 150 miles of this road is in good condition and easely driveabale by car or pickup.

For those living on the south shore of St-Lawrence river or Eastern states or provinces, if you do not take a bridge to cross the St-Lawrence river, in Montreal or Quebec City, here are two places where you can take a ferry-boat to cross towards the north-shore of St-Lawrence river.You have to caîl in advance to know the departure time of these ferry-boats, at the following numbers:
